WinRAR Unplugged is the official portable edition of the popular compression tool, specifically designed to let you manage and extract files from a USB flash drive or external hard drive without needing to install software on the host computer. Your existing WinRAR desktop license key works perfectly on this version. Setting Up WinRAR Unplugged
Download the official package and save the executable directly onto your removable storage device.
Launch the program by double-clicking the file from your USB drive, allowing it to unpack into its own standalone program folder.
Run the software at any time by navigating to that program folder and double-clicking WinRAR.exe. How to Extract Files On the Go
Because portable applications do not permanently integrate into the Windows right-click context menu, you will extract your files directly through the software’s interface:
Open the Archive: Launch WinRAR.exe from your portable drive and use its built-in file browser to locate the compressed file you want to open.
Select Your Files: Highlight the specific files or folders inside the interface that you wish to decompress.
Choose “Extract To”: Click the Extract To button located on the top toolbar.
Set the Destination: A navigation window will pop up. Browse to your preferred location—whether it is a folder on the host computer or a directory directly on your USB drive.
Execute: Click OK to finish the process and extract your files immediately. Supported Formats
WinRAR Unplugged can unpack a wide variety of compressed formats beyond basic .rar and .zip files, including 7Z, ISO, CAB, TAR, GZ, ACE, and JAR.
